Carrera Classic had the opportunity to participate to the start event of XIV Rally Classico in the fantastic yacht harbor of Puerto Portals outside Palma de Majorca on March 8th 2018. This rally is one of the key events in the European classic rally circuit. For the duration of the event, the harbor of Puerto Portals became one of the most glamorous ‘parc fermés’ in the rally world, and a place for devoted petrol-heads to admire some dream motoring machines.
During the hair-raising event on the serpentine roads of Tramuntana mountains on the west coast of Mallorca, the crowds watched with excitement the historic Porsches, Shelby Cobras, Jaguars and many other great cars passing by. Over the three days and one night participants from all over the world traveled over 500 kilometers including high speed sections and challenges of extreme curves such as the route to Sa Calobra, rotating 360 degrees.
Classic Porsches were doing well. The speed category was won by an Austrian Porsche 911 RSR and the regularity category was also won by a 911 Carrera 3.2.
