Carrera Classic team visited Techno Classica fair in Essen 6-7.4. 2017.
Techno Classica is the largest classic car fair in Europe and very likely in the whole world. This time there were close to 200.000 visitors, 21 exhibition halls with 1250 exhibitors including dealers, clubs, vendors, auctioneers and also 25 major manufacturers. They displayed about 2500 historic road and racing cars. This year the main theme was the exhibition of the cars of Monaco Grand prix over the years.
We were mainly interested to benchmark our own work with the other European restorers. As always we found a wide variation of both quality of the work and the originality of the cars. Of course this variation was most of the time also reflected in the price of the cars. We learned a lot from this exhibition and we are even more convinced that the right way to work with these old cars is to respect their originality and invest in the high quality of the work and finish.
We were also proud to see that our own quality is competitive on the European market.
